The Government of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) with a vision to provide affordable housing for all. It started the PMAY-Urban scheme in 2015, followed by PMAY-Gramin in 2016. To date, approximately 4.21 Crore houses have been sanctioned through this scheme.

The PMAY scheme is open to families across various income brackets. If you are eligible for the scheme, you can apply for it through the online portal https://pmaymis.gov.in/. To find out if your application has been successful, you can check the PM Awas Yojana list of beneficiaries.

Features of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

This flagship scheme of the Union Government offers various subsidies and benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

Purpose

This scheme aims to provide pucca houses to all vulnerable families residing in the rural and urban areas

Subsidy on Interest Rates

Under its Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) vertical, you can get an interest subsidy at the rate of 6.50% for a tenure of up to 20 years

Eco-friendly

It promotes adoption of green technologies and eco-friendly building material to reduce the environmental impact of construction

Specifical Preference

It allows senior citizens and disabled persons to get accommodation at ground or lower floors

How is the PMAY List Prepared

The Union Government prepares the PMAY-Urban list of beneficiaries based on the income bracket to which the family belongs. It uses Aadhaar, voter cards, and other unique identifications from the Revenue Authority to avoid duplication.

For PMAY-Gramin, it uses a three-stage validation process that includes the Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011, Gram Sabha approvals, and geo-tagging.

Visit the official website of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban at https://pmaymis.gov.in
Click on 'Search Beneficiary' and enter your Aadhaar number
Click on ‘Show’ and check your name in the list

How to Check the PMAY-Gramin List

Here are the steps to follow to check the PMAY-Gramin list:

Go to the official website of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin at https://awaassoft.nic.in/
Click on the 'Stakeholder' tab, and a drop-down menu will appear
Select ‘IAY/PMAYG Beneficiary’ from the menu
Enter the registration number on the new page and click on the ‘Submit’ button

Select the CNA-PLI List on the home page
Choose the PLI banks list that you want to view from the following categories:

You can download the PMAY list 2024 in the PDF format by following these steps:

Go to the official website of the PMAY Scheme at https://pmayg.nic.in/netiayHome/home.aspx
Click on the ‘Awaassoft’ tab and then choose ‘Report’ from the drop-down menu
Click on ‘Beneficiary details for verification’ under the ‘Social Audit Reports’ tab
Select the relevant options under the ‘Selection Filters’ section
Enter the captcha and submit the information
Click on ‘Download PDF’ available under the submit option
