• Step 3: Click on the ‘Land Available’ option.

• Step 4: Select the year and week, and enter the Reference Number.

The ideal time to apply for the RGRHCL is the first week of January. This is because the gram panchayat revises its applicants' list on a yearly basis. Here, the applicants need to submit Form Number 1 to register their respective applications.

The various selection procedures adopted by Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Ltd. for the 1 lakh multi-storey Bengaluru housing programme are as follows:

• Step 1: Lottery Selection 

Beneficiaries will be selected via lottery if eligible beneficiaries under this programme are more than the available number of houses in each village. However, this entire selection process will be recorded on video for future proof purposes.

• Step 2: Verification of Sites through GPS

A GPS verification of the vacant site will be carried out by the Panchayat Development Officers or engineers. This is necessary to find out if the selected beneficiary is eligible for that particular site or not. 

• Step 3: Enclosure of Personal Details

• Step 4: Online Approval

After uploading the personal details, an online approval is to be taken by the Commissioner following the method of Digital Signature. This list is then sent to the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Ltd. for its final approval.

• Step 5: Intimation via SMS

After getting approval, an SMS will be sent to them about their selection. It will also contain bank details, fund release information and other such details. 

According to a Datamation Consultants Pvt Ltd study, RGRHCL has provided 2.3 lakh houses to its beneficiaries per year. Among these, 2.24 lakh houses lie in rural areas, and the remaining 0.06 lakh houses lie in urban areas. 

Although the RGRHCL has done a remarkable performance in achieving its target in the larger housing schemes, the smaller housing schemes have experienced an achievement of only 29%.
