The Atal Amrit Yojana, also known as the Atal Amrit Abhiyan, is a healthcare scheme launched by the Government of Assam. This scheme has been designed to offer cashless medical treatment for 437 diseases amounting to Rs. 2 Lakhs every year.
Families holding Above Poverty Line (APL) and Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards are eligible to apply for the Atal Amrit Abhiyan. While this scheme is free for BPL families, APL families are required to pay a nominal sum of Rs. 100 for each member to receive the benefits.
The Atal Amrit Yojna is launched by the Assam government to provide financial assistance to the low-income and BPL population in India considering the crisis the country is currently going through. The agenda is to provide quality healthcare services and cashless treatments to poor and low-income households so that they do not have to suffer without proper treatments or borrow money to pay medical bills.
Some of the key features of the Atal Amrit Abhiyan scheme -
APL families that have an annual income of ₹5 lakhs are eligible for the Atal Amrit Abhiyan health insurance scheme.
Atal Amrit Yojna offers cashless treatments and healthcare facilities to eligible families.
Government employees cannot avail of the benefit of Atal Amrit Abhiyan.
The enrolment for the Atal Amrit Abhiyan health insurance scheme is free of cost for BPL families while APL families have to pay a nominal amount of Rs. 100 as annual enrolment fees.
ISA (Implementation Support Agency) and Medi Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd. have joined hands with the Assam government to render cashless healthcare services.
The Atal Amrit Abhiyan scheme also covers the travelling expenses of the visitors under the daily allowance sanctioned.
The scheme includes high-cost treatments for cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases, etc.
Enrolled families can get hospital admission without any advance payment.
In total, the benefits of the Atal Amrit Yojana cover 437 diseases, which have been segregated into the following six categories:

To become a part of the Atal Amrit Abhiyan society, there are a few eligibility criteria that need to be met by applicants. Read on to learn what it takes to get the Atal Amrit Card.
The scheme is open to all BPL families in Assam with an annual income lesser than ₹1.2 Lakhs.
APL families with an income of between ₹1.2-5 Lakhs are eligible for the Atal Amrit Abhiyan but are required to pay a nominal annual premium of ₹100.
Central or State Government employees, whether current or retired, are not eligible.
During registration and for the Atal Amrit Abhiyan card check, applicants are required to submit the following documents.
EPIC Card (for minors, birth certificate)
Voter ID Card
Income Certificate
NFSA Card, if applicable
Patient photograph, attested by doctor
To enrol for the Atal Amrit Abhiyan, follow the steps mentioned below:

Click on the ‘Atal Amrit Abhiyan Application Format’ to avail the application form. Alternatively, the form can also be availed at the enrolment centre in the district.
Once you have filled it out, you are required to submit it with the requisite documents to the Office of the Joint Director of Health Services of your district. You can submit it yourself or send it via post.

The Atal Amrit Card is issued to the beneficiaries once the application process is completed. The Atal Amrit Abhiyan Card is issued to beneficiaries through more or less a similar process. The authentication of beneficiaries also includes providing documents proving their identity, and for minors, the original birth certificate is required.

The Atal Amrit Abhiyan is a great initiative by the Assam government to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage and cashless treatment benefits to low-income households. If your family income is between ₹1.2-5 Lakhs annually, you are required to pay ₹100 as fees for availing the Atal Amrit Abhiyan Yojana Card for yourself and your beneficiaries.
Your Atal Amrit Abhiyan Card, with its unique identification number, needs to be shown at the empanelled hospital to avail cashless treatment.
