Know more about the HIMCARE Scheme that provides health insurance for the poor
The Mukhyamantri Himachal Health Care Scheme also known as the HIMCARE scheme. A health insurance initiative taken by the government of Himachal Pradesh. The scheme aims to provide quality healthcare and cashless treatments for the underprivileged.
Assistance is provided to families who are not covered under Ayushman Bharat. This is based on the SECC, 2011 and RSBY which ensures that targeted assistance is provided to those who need it.
Underprivileged individuals in Himachal Pradesh can receive cashless treatments with a co-payment arrangement.
Officially launched on January 1, 2019, by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Cashless treatments provide a cover of ₹5 Lakhs annually per family which is on a floater basis. This can cover up to five family members.
Families that exceed the cap of five members can enrol the pending members as a separate unit. Each separate unit is capped at five members.
Treatments under HIMCARE are based on pre-defined package rates. This helps with providing affordable healthcare services and standardise hospitalisation policies.
