It is a flagship scheme of the Government of India that aims to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC). It includes two inter-related components:

• The Government announced the creation of 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs)

• It aims to transform the existing Sub Centres and Primary Health Centres to make quality healthcare more accessible

• The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) is the largest health insurance scheme in the world 

• PMJAY provides coverage of ₹5 Lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary healthcare hospitalisation

Before going for treatment, you can find the empanelled healthcare facilities online. Follow these simple steps to search for a government hospital in PMJAY online:

1. Visit the official PMJAY website and click on the ‘Menu’ tab in the top-left corner 

2. Under the ‘Dashboard’ section, select the ‘Public Dashboard’ option

3. Click on the ‘Download’ option under the ‘Hospitals Empanelled’ section

4. Select the ‘PDF’ option to download the Ayushman Bharat hospital list as a PDF

Healthcare facilities can enrol under the network of the Ayushman Bharat scheme online. They need to follow these simple steps:

1. Visit the official PMJAY website and open the dedicated portal for hospitals under the ‘For Hospitals’ section

2. Click on the ‘Hospital Login’ option and register on the portal by providing relevant information

3. Complete the empanelment process after registration by sharing details about the infrastructure, facilities, and willingness to participate

4. The concerned authorities will then verify and approve the application if the facility meets the eligibility criteria

5. Once empanelment is complete, hospitals can update their information, pricing, and other details
