For the online application of EC in Puducherry, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Department of Registration, Puducherry.
Step 2: From the menu bar, click on ‘Certificates’.
Step 3: A drop-down menu will appear. From that, choose ‘Encumbrance Certificate’.
Step 4: A new web page opens, and you can find a box titled ‘e-Services’ on the right side of the page. Click on the ‘Online Encumbrance Certificate’ option.
Step 5: If you are new to the website, you may have to create a new account by providing information like name, address, email id, and mobile number. If you are an existing user, log in to your account by providing the username and password.
Step 6: Once you log in, the application form for the EC will open.
Step 7: Complete the application form by entering the proper information.
Step 8: Click on the ‘Search Proceed’ button.
Step 9: Enter the necessary details such as Period, Survey Number, Ward, Block, and Revenue Village. Then the transaction details will be displayed.
Step 10: After application submission, you will receive an acknowledgement slip and a serial number. During your EC summary, this slip and number should be submitted to the concerned sub-registrar.
Step 11: Pay the EC fees online after submission of the application.
Step 12: Once the Registrar verifies the application, the certificate will be issued immediately.
For the offline application of EC in Puducherry, follow the steps given below
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Department of Registration, Puducherry.
Step 2: From the menu bar, click on ‘Certificates’.

Step 11: Then, you will receive an acknowledgement slip and a serial number. During your EC summary, this slip and number should be submitted to the concerned sub-registrar.
Step 12: Once the Registrar verifies the application, the certificate will be issued immediately.
