Assam Ration Card

The Assam government gives ration cards to specific families in the state under the Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) of the Nation Food Security Act(NFSA), 2013. A ration card is a document that allows low-income or below-poverty-line families to obtain food grains at a reduced price. In Assam, ration cards are now given under the NFSA Scheme.

The Assam ration card list for 2024 is available online. The following are the steps you should follow:

• Step 1: Visit the Assam PDS official website.

• Step 2: Choose the name of your district in Assam.

• Step 4: When you click on the Tehsil name, you'll see villages in that Tehsil.

• As evidence of names on the voter list, a copy of the voter id is required.

• All minor members of your family's birth certificates

To apply for a ration card in Assam, go to the nearest Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs branch office.

• Step 1: Select "PDS stakeholder" and then "In States" from the drop-down menu.

• Step 2: After selecting "District Food and Supply Officer," select "FPS Dealers."

• Step 3: Select a state by clicking on it.

• Step 4: You'll be redirected to a new window. Select the district and block/Tehsil from the drop-down menus.

• Step 5: Then select "view report."

• Step 6: You can search for "department" and find contact information on every district website.

• Step 7: The application form can then be picked up at the office.

• Step 8: Fill out the application form completely.

• Step 9: Submit your application together with copies of any relevant documents.

• Step 10: The appropriate authority will verify your application and documentation, and you will receive a receipt for your application.

• Step 11: If your application is approved, you will receive your ration card in the mail within a few weeks.

You must present your original ration card as well as one of the following documents to update your address on your ration card:

• Photo ID

• Driver's licence

• PAN card

• Voter ID
