Jan Vitran Ann (JVA), also called the Ration Card Management System, is an online platform by the Government of Bihar. It helps in issuing and managing ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

 

JVA ensures that ration cards are distributed fairly, helping families get food supplies at subsidised rates. It also improves transparency in the Public Distribution System (PDS).

Follow these steps to apply for a new ration card in Bihar:

1. Visit the official website of Jan Vitran Ann at https://epds.bihar.gov.in/

2. Click on the ‘Apply RC Online’ tab

3. You will be redirected to https://rconline.bihar.gov.in/ 

4. Read the instruction carefully and then click on ‘Login’ tab

5. You will be redirected to the page ‘Meri Pehchan’

6. Enter your mobile number and click on ‘Generate OTP’

7. Enter the OTP received via SMS

8. Fill in the information and tick on ‘I accept Terms and Conditions’  

9. Next click on the ‘Verify’ tab and follow further instructions as prompted 

    

Once submitted, no further changes can be made. You will receive an SMS confirmation with your application ID and final submission details.

To download your Bihar ration card, follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website of the EPDS Bihar portal https://epds.bihar.gov.in/

    

2. Place the cursor on the ‘RCMS’ tab and select the ‘RCMS Report’ option

 

from the drop-down menu

 

3. You will be redirected to the ‘Report on Category Wise Number of Ration Card in District’ page

 

4. From the drop down menu, select your district and click on ‘Show’

 

5. Next select from the rural or urban options 

 

6. Next select the ‘Block' option

 

7. Click on the ‘Panchayat’ option and then select the ‘Village’ option

 

8. Find your name under the ‘FPS Dealer’ column

 

9. Click on the corresponding ration card link next to your name

 

10. Your ration card will appear on the screen

 

11. Scroll down and click on ‘Print Page’ option

 

The Mera Ration App is a mobile application designed to assist ration cardholders, especially migrants, in accessing Public Distribution System (PDS) services across India. 

 

To download and install the app:

1. For Android Users:

   • Open the Google Play Store on your device

   • Search for ‘Mera Ration 2.0’

   • Tap on ‘Install’ to download and install the app

2. For iOS Users:

   • Open the App Store on your device

   • Search for ‘Mera Ration App 2.0’

   • Tap on ‘Get’ to download and install the app

 

Once installed, open the app and register using your ration card number to access its features.

The Mera Ration App offers several features to enhance the experience of ration cardholders in Bihar:

• Easily find the nearest FPS using GPS functionality

• View your allocated quantity of subsidised foodgrains

• Access details of your recent transactions and distributions

• Verify if your Aadhaar number is linked to your ration card

• Migrant beneficiaries can register their migration details to access ration benefits in new locations

• Provide feedback or suggestions directly through the app

To verify if your name is on the Bihar ration card list:

1. Visit the official website of the EPDS Bihar portal https://epds.bihar.gov.in/

 

2. Place the cursor on the ‘RCMS’ tab and select the ‘RCMS Report’ option

 

3. You should get redirected to the ‘Report on Category Wise Number of Ration Card in District’ page

 

4. Choose your district, block, panchayat, and village accordingly

 

 

5. A list of ration cardholders in your selected area will be displayed

 

 

Follow the given steps to check status of Bihar Ration Card:

1. Visit the official website of the Department of Food & Consumer Protection, Government of Bihar

2. Select “Ration Card Management System”

3. Select your district from the list

4. You can view the category-wise number of ration cards. You must then select from the option- urban or rural

5. Click on your block from the available options

6. Select from the list of panchayats and click on the village

7. Select the right Fair price shop

8. View the given list of ration cards

9. You must then select your ration card number and view the card details. Now select the ‘download’ option.

The Meri Pehchaan portal is a Single Sign-On (SSO) platform that allows citizens to access multiple government services with a single login. If you're an existing user of an integrated service and wish to migrate to the Meri Pehchaan portal, follow these steps:

1. Visit the Meri Pehchaan Portal https://meripehchaan.gov.in/

2. Enter your existing username and password

3. Click on the ‘Sign In’ button

    

A consent pop-up will appear

1. Review the information and click ‘Continue’ to proceed

2. Fill in any additional required detail to complete your profile

3. Choose and set up security questions or two-factor authentication as prompted

4. Confirm all details and complete the migration process

The process allows you to access detailed asset declarations for each district. To view district-wise assets in Bihar, follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website of State Food Corporation http://sfc.bihar.gov.in/login.htm

2. On the homepage, click on the ‘Asset Declaration’ option

3. Choose the ‘District Assets’ option

4. From the dropdown menu, select your district

5. Enter your username and password

6. Click on the ‘Submit’ button

7. The asset information for the selected district will be displayed

If you have concerns or issues related to the Public Distribution System (PDS) in Bihar, you can register a complaint as follows:

1. Visit the official website of the EPDS Bihar portal https://epds.bihar.gov.in/

2. Click on the ‘Login’ option and enter your credentials and captcha code

3. After logging in, go to the ‘Customer Info’ section

4. Click on ‘Submit Grievance’

5. Provide all relevant details about your complaint

6. Click on the ‘Submit’ button

7. You will receive a Panjikaran ID

 

Keep this ID safe, as it will be required to track the status of your complaint.

To track the status of a complaint you've registered:

1. Visit the official website of the EPDS Bihar portal https://epds.bihar.gov.in/

2. Login with your credentials

3. Click on the ‘Know Grievance Status’ option

4. Provide the required information, such as your Panjikaran ID

5. Click on the ‘Get Status’ button

    

The current status of your complaint will be displayed.
