• Tap on the ‘Fresh Driving licence’ option displayed on the screen.

• Enter details like birthdate, learner’s licence number, etc., in the form and attach the required documents.

• Schedule a slot for a driving licence test according to your convenience.

• For the test, you will have to go to the nearest RTO.

• After you pass the test, your driving licence will be dispatched to your registered address.

To apply for a driving licence in Andhra Pradesh offline, follow the steps mentioned below:

• Visit the nearest RTO and inquire about Form No. 4 for general driving licence and Form 5 for commercial driving licence.

• Submit the filled form along with the supporting documents.

• Pay the driving licence fee of Rs. 200.

• Schedule a slot for a driving licence test according to your convenience with the help of the concerned executive.

• After passing the test, your driving licence will be dispatched to your registered address in the next 2-3 weeks.

1. Gearless Vehicles -

The first category for driving licence in Andhra Pradesh is for gearless vehicles with an engine power below 50 cc.

2. Light Gear Two-wheeler -

This category of driving licence in Andhra Pradesh is issued for gear vehicles with an engine power above 50 cc for individuals above 18 years.

3. Light Gear Four-wheeler -

This category of driving licence in Andhra Pradesh is issued for geared four-wheeler vehicles with an engine power above 50 cc for individuals above 18 years.

4. Heavy Gear Vehicles -

The step by step procedure of getting a driving licence test in Andhra Pradesh is -

• Select a Test Track -

There are four driving test tracks available in Andhra Pradesh including the Nagole Driving test, Kondapur Driving test, Gannavarm Nagole Driving test, and Ampapuram Nagole Heavy Vehicle Driving test. Applicants can choose the nearest driving test facility according to their convenience.

• Schedule a Test Slot -

Applicants will have to pre-book a driving test slot specifying the time of the test.

• Appear for the Driving Test -

In the driving test, you will have to showcase your driving skills so that the examiner can decide whether to pass you or fail you in the test.

• Go for the Road Safety Test -

The second stage of the driving licence test is the Road Safety Test which includes testing the knowledge of traffic signals, signs, and rules.

• Re-test -

In case you fail the test for the first time, you can try again by submitting the application form again.

To check the status of driving licence in Andhra Pradesh -

• Go to the ‘Document Delivery Services’ window on the official portal of the transport department of Andhra Pradesh.

• Enter the required details like application number, etc.

• Once you enter the details, tap on the ‘Details’ option.

• The current status of your application will be displayed on your screen. You will also get the option to download/print the status report of your driving licence application.

In case you need an International driving licence permit in Andhra Pradesh, you just have to submit the following documents to the nearest RTO -

• IDP Form - Fill the form and submit it to the RTO.

• Passport-size photos.

• Copy of your current driving licence.

• Pay the International driving licence permit fee of Rs. 200 to the concerned executive.

• Once the verification process is completed, your International driving licence will be sent to your registered address.

A duplicate driving licence is issued by the RTO when the original driving licence is lost, misplaced, damaged, etc by an individual. To apply for a duplicate driving licence in Andhra Pradesh, follow the steps mentioned below -

• Go to the official portal of the Andhra Pradesh transport department.

• Select the ‘Permanent Driving Licence’ option mentioned under the ‘Licence’ heading.

• You will find the ‘Duplicate Driving Licence’ option. Click on the option.

• Enter details like RTO office, birthdate, etc.

• Submit the necessary documents with the form.

• The portal will ask for duplicate driving licence charges. Select the feasible payment option.

• Once the application is submitted, the duplicate driving licence will be issued after the verification process.
