Headed by the Transport Commissioner, the Department of Motor Vehicles is responsible for issuing driving licences in Rajasthan. There are 52 Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across the state that issue licences for both 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers.
If you wish to apply for a driving licence in Rajasthan, you must be at least 16 years of age (2-wheeler) or 18 years of age (4-wheeler). If you wish to apply for a driving licence for a commercial/transport vehicle, you should be at least 20 years of age. Additionally, you must possess a valid learner’s licence, which should be at least 30 days old, and not older than 6 months.
To apply for a two-wheeler or non-gear licence the applicant must be 16 years of age or above.
To apply for a licence to drive a light four-wheeler the applicant must be 18 years of age.
To apply for a licence to drive a commercial or transport vehicle, the applicant must be 20 years of age.
The applicant must possess a valid learner’s licence.
The application for the driving licence in Rajasthan must be made 30 days after but within 6 months of the issue of the learner’s licence.

Select driving licence/learner’s licence button on the home page
Select Rajasthan from the drop-down menu
Fill out the form, upload supporting documents and signature as instructed.
Follow these steps to apply for a new driving Licence in Rajasthan offline:
Visit the RTO in person to collect the physical form.
Fill out the form, attach supporting documents and update signatures where needed.
Drop off the duly filled out form at the nearest RTO and make payment of a fee for the application.
Book a slot for your driving test.
Proof of age: Any document stating proof of age should be submitted. This includes a PAN card, Passport, Voter ID Card or Birth Certificate.

There are different kind of driving licences issued in Rajasthan.
A learner’s licence is a temporary licence issued for a period of 6 months prior to the issuance of a permanent driving licence. This licence allows the applicant to learn how to drive before they submit to a driving licence test to obtain a permanent driving licence.

Go to Licence Related Services and click on Driver/Learner Licence.
Click on the drop-down menu and select ‘Rajasthan’.
Click on application status on the top right-hand corner.
Enter your application number and date of birth, and you will be redirected to a page that will contain your DL status in Rajasthan
You can apply for an IDP (International Driver’s Permit) in Rajasthan online or offline. The steps are as follows.
Visit https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/sarathiservice/stateSelection.do
Go to Licence Related Services and click on Driver/Learner’s Licence.
Click on the drop-down menu and select ‘Rajasthan’.
Click on the ‘Apply for Internal Driving Permit’ tab on the page.
Fill out the application form and upload supporting documents as instructed.
Cross-check the details you have filled into the application form.
Make the payment for the IDP application.
Visit the nearest RTO in person to pick up the application form - Form 4.
Fill out all the details as instructed. Ensure that you attach physical copies of the required supporting documentation.
The IDP will be issued once all your documents have been verified and the payment of the fee is complete.

To apply for Duplicate Driver’s Licence in Rajasthan online:
Visit https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/sarathiservice/stateSelection.do
Go to Licence Related Services and click on Driver/Learner’s Licence.
Click on the drop-down menu and select ‘Rajasthan’.
Click on the ‘Apply for Duplicate Driving Licence’ tab on the page.
Fill out the application form and upload supporting documents as instructed including your expired/current Driving Licence.
After you submit your application, note down your application number. This will be required when you visit the RTO in person to have the supporting documents verified.
Post verification at the RTO, you will receive your Driving Licence.
In order to apply for a duplicate licence, the following documents need to be submitted at the nearest RTO:
Copy of the lost driving licence
A copy of the FIR filed under a police station with relevant jurisdiction
Application Form LLD
A self-attested fitness certificate
A duly filled out form for issuance of duplicate driving licence
Payment of a fee of INR 200
Once the documents have been verified the duplicate licence will be delivered to your registered address.
