The following are the functions of the RTO Office Ahmedabad.
This RTO offers facilities of temporary registration as well as permanent registration for your vehicles. Ahmedabad RTO vehicle registration details need to be filled out in a form and show proof of ownership or dealership. If you want to renew your registration, that is after 15 years of the registration, RTO also carries out the re-registration of the vehicle.
RTO also conducts tests for issuing your driving licence. It first issues a learner’s licence and then conducts a separate test for the final licence. Once you pass the test, the licence is issued which you have to carry with you at all times when you’re behind the wheel.
If you need a copy of your registration certificate and driving licence, you can apply for it at the RTO office. All you need to submit is the completed application form, a police report, and an insurance certificate.
An important part of the RTO’s role is the collection of taxes, charges, and fines. All vehicles have to pay the Motor Vehicle Tax, which is collected by the RTO Ahmedabad for the city. Other fees and charges like the International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) fees are also collected by the RTO.
RTO is also responsible for ensuring that the vehicles on the road are abiding by the environmental norms enforced by the authorities. To this effect, RTO issues a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. This certificate ensures the vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards for smoke emission, etc.
