RTOs or Regional Transport Offices are created in India under Section 213 of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 to implement the rules and regulations of the same act. Under section 68 of the Motor Vehicles Act, one Regional Transport Authority is constituted in the 11 regions of the Punjab state. All vehicles should be registered at Punjab RTO to drive them on the roads of Punjab. You can register a vehicle temporarily (issued by the vehicle dealer and valid for one month) or permanently (issued by RTO and valid for 15 years from the date of registration). Pay the applicable taxes and fees.
Submit the forms and documents at the RTO office.

Third party policy insurance -
The cheapest insurance plan and it will only cover any damages caused to the third person during the accident and not damage caused to own vehicles.
