The new income tax portal has a new design and also provides great convenience to the taxpayers. It was announced this year on May 20. The new portal can be used to complete all tax-related duties.
The e-Filing platform is used by taxpayers to file their income tax returns (ITR). Apart from this, the portal can also be used to request refunds and file grievances. The site is used by the Tax Department to get responses from taxpayers who have various questions. All correspondence about penalties, exemptions, and appeals is also done through the portal.
Step 1: On the right-hand side of the homepage, click on ‘Register' to access the income tax portal.
Step 2: Enter your PAN and select the ‘Validate’ button. After that, click on ‘Continue' and select ‘Yes.'
Step 3: Fill in the blank fields with your first, middle, and last name. Select your gender as well as your residential status.
Step 4: Provide contact information to finish the registration process. Enter your mobile number, email ID, postal address details. After entering all of the information correctly, click on ‘Continue.'
Step 5: After submitting the form, a six-digit One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your phone number and email address. To successfully check the details, enter the OTP accurately. Please note that the OTP is only provided to the registered email address for non-residents.
Step 6: After validating the OTP, you will be redirected to a new window where you can double-check the information you have entered. If you need to make changes, you can go back to the previous screen, make the necessary changes, and then validate with the OTP you received.
Step 7: Set a password for your account and a secure login message after verification. Upper case letters, lower case letters, and special characters should be used in the password.
Step 8: Select ‘Register' from the drop-down menu. After successfully registering, you will receive an acknowledgement number.
Click the 'Register Yourself' button on the right side of the Home Page to begin the registration process
Select 'Individual' as the user type. Continue by pressing the ‘Enter’ key

Select the 'Continue' button
To complete the registration procedure, enter the correct OTP
Visit the government portal's homepage to get to the Indian income tax login page. For registered users, there is a box on the top-right side with a 'Login' button.
After you have enrolled for e-Filing, the process should not take more than 21 days to complete.
