Steps to Update Address & Mobile Number on Aadhaar Card

The Aadhaar Card document determines your status as an Indian citizen and consists of demographic and biometric data. Demographic data includes your name, birthdate, phone number, etc. while biometric data includes your fingerprint, retinal scan and photograph. 

Details need to be up to date since the Aadhaar Card is used at all financial, educational and administrative institutions. Since such data can be subject to change, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) offers you facilities to update your information online and offline.

• Step 7: You must then attach the address proof document that will help the UIDAI officials validate your request.

• Step 8: After submitting the update request, you will receive the URN (Update Request Number). The URN can be used to track the process of your Aadhaar card update.

If you do not prefer to use the online mode to update your Aadhaar details, you can also choose the offline mode. To request the update in the online mode, you must visit an official Aadhaar Enrolment Centre. Follow the steps mentioned below to update the Aadhaar card offline:

• Step 1: Request the operator at the centre to provide you an application form.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) now allows you to update the address on your Aadhaar Card without providing any address proof. Just follow the steps mentioned below to update your address without an address proof:

• Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI portal uidai.gov and log in with your Aadhaar number.

• Step 2: You will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) on your registered mobile number along with a link. Click on the link to proceed.

• Step 3: Now, give your consent for the update and enter the SRN sent to you on the next page.

• Step 4: Preview the address that you see on the screen.

• Step 5: Next, choose your preferred language and then submit the address update request.

• Step 6: You will now receive a letter with a secret code from UIDAI at the address given by you in a few days.

• Step 1. Visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre
