The 12-digit Unique Identification Number, also known as the Aadhaar number, can be verified online by visiting the official UIDAI website. You need to follow the below-mentioned steps in order to verify Aadhaar.
Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI website at uidai.gov.in
Step 2: Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ option and then select ‘Verify an Aadhaar Number’.
Step 3: As you click on it, a new tab will open. Enter your 12-digit unique identification number in the designated space.
Step 4: If the Aadhaar number entered by you is correct, you will be able to confirm whether your Aadhaar card is active or not.
Step 5: Scroll down and confirm other information like your date of birth, mobile number, gender, etc.
To get your offline Aadhaar data file in the XML format, you are required to:
Step 1: Visit the link: resident.uidai.gov.in/offlineaadhaar
Step 2: Enter your Aadhaar number.
Step 3: Click on ‘Send OTP.’
Step 4: After OTP authentication, click on ‘Submit.’
Step 5: Your ZIP file will now be downloaded.
Step 6: Extract it after providing the password, and save it in your preferred location.
Step 7: You can now use your offline data file for offline verification.
You can keep your biometrics safe via this Aadhaar online service. If you choose to lock your biometrics, it can not be used for authentication. To avail of this service, you are required to follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Go to the UIDAI’s official website uidai.gov.in
Step 2: Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ option and click on ‘Aadhaar Services.’
Step 3: Select the option to lock and unlock biometrics.
Step 4: Provide your Aadhaar number.
Step 5: Select the option to send OTP.
Step 6: Once you receive the OTP, enter the same in the designated space to either lock or unlock your Aadhaar biometrics.
To know the details of your Aadhaar authentication history, you can follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1:Go to the UIDAI’s official website - uidai.gov.in
Step 2:Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ option and select ‘Aadhaar Services.’
Step 3:Now click on ‘Aadhaar Authentication History.’
Step 4:Provide the security code and select the option to generate OTP.
Step 5:You can view your Aadhaar authentication history, once the OTP is verified.
To prevent your Aadhaar details from being misused, you can generate a temporary code for Aadhaar verifications. This 16-digit code is also known as the Aadhaar virtual ID. Just follow the below-mentioned steps in order to generate a Virtual ID:
Step 1:Visit the official UIDAI website - .uidai.gov.in
Step 2:Click on ‘Aadhaar Services.’
Step 3:Click on ‘Virtual ID Generator.’
Step 4:Provide your Aadhaar number.
Step 5:Click on ‘send OTP.’
Step 6:After OTP authentication, select the option to ‘Generate/Retrieve VID.’
Step 7:You will receive the 16-digit virtual ID on your registered mobile number.
