Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana (AB PM-JAY MMSBY), was launched on August 20, 2019, by the Punjab State Government. It aims to provide hospitalisation services for people who come under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of the state. The main goal of the scheme's implementation is to offer cashless treatment of up to ₹5 Lakhs to the EWS residents at government and private hospitals so that they can receive medical treatments including surgeries without worrying about finances. AB PM-JAY MMSBY also provides beneficiaries with cashless health insurance plans of ₹5 Lakhs per family annually.

Each beneficiary’s family would receive a cashless health insurance policy worth ₹5 Lakhs each year.

2. Treatment Packages 

1579 secondary and tertiary medical care service packages at public and accredited private hospitals in Chandigarh and Punjab are provided to the beneficiaries under AB PM-JAY MMSBY. 

3. Pre-Existing Disease Coverage

Pre-existing diseases are covered, and the treatment package covers three days of pre-hospitalisation and fifteen days of post-hospitalisation expenses.

Safai karamcharis, sanitation employees, ward boys, physicians, ASHA workers, specialists, paramedics, nurses, and other healthcare personnel are all included. In the event of an accident, the recipient receives compensation of ₹50 Lakhs. However, this scheme went into force on April 30, 2020, and was only valid for 90 days.
